Instructions

Below is a list of things you need to be able to make your very own music or performance experience in Fortnite with us.

Follow these steps to become a Fortnite Star!

Before starting, it is VERY important that you are only producing your OWN music, not someone elses. This means you can't sing someone elses song as your own, or dance to a piece of music you bought online.

Why is this? Because Epic Games, the owners of Fortnite, need to undertake a complicated process of making sure the artist whose music you want to use has cleared it for us in every country that Fortnite is played in.

We hope we can make this easier one day, but right now, please only sing your own songs and share them with the world in Copper House, get them seen by a worldwide audience and watch the revenue from the increased music streams come pouring in.

You need to sign up on the Move One app and with Ready Player Me. These are third party tools who we work closely with and that we can guarantee will provide great data and style for your character. You will find lots of guides on their websites about how to use their services but the next steps will give you the general idea.

Get your music together

You need to record your music. If you are just recording all of it live, great! Just stick a microphone (or many of them) where you need them and mix it down into a mono or stereo track - we will take care of the rest.

If you are singing to a backing track, also great! The very best way is to capture the voice separately to the backing tracks which means playing it with headphones in and using the microphone to record your voice on its own. If you know what you are doing, you can mix it down into a single track if you want too.

Motion Capture

It's your time to shine! Load your Move One app and make sure you are logged in. You don't need your phone to be still, so someone could be filming you but the best results come when the phone is static, so think about using a phone stand or case to hold it steady.

With Move One, you can capture up to 60s of content. If your song is longer than 60s, and it probably is, don't worry - we got your back. You just need to record the song in chunks and make sure you overlap the takes so we can work out how to put it back together again. We are limiting this to 6 minutes of content on the current plans, please contact us if your song is longer than this.

Ready Player Me

You can build your own avatar however you want whenever you want. Be creative, combine different looks and stick it all into your "My Avatars" page. The adventurous can even create their own clothing, props and use programs like photoshop to paint your own clothing to match your brand or unique look.

To get started, Ready Player Me has an awesome tool which takes your photo and creates an avatar that looks like you. Or you can start from scratch and create something completely original.

Once you have a character you like, you just need to click on the three dots in the corner of your avatars thumbnail and click the "copy .glb link" to share with us later.

Submission

Next it's our turn to work on your content.

You have to submit everything from above via the form in the subscription link. In the form you will be able to make choices, like the sort of staging you want, lighting, effects and other wonderful things that will make your act the best in Fortnite. These are all included in the package price so have fun creating what you want your experience to look and feel like.

If you are submitting a solo act, you just need the one persons motion capture and ready player me link. If you are submitting a band, you will need to submit one for each person. The form asks you how many people you have in your band (up to 5) and where they are placed etc. You will have to use 5 phones, or 1 phone 5 times to capture everyone and remember which is which so you can submit it for the right person!

What Next?

We will work our magic in the background and then one of two things will happen:

1. One of our designers will be in touch with you with questions, to make sure we have understood your act or to make suggestions if they think they can do something creative for you. We may also say that the motion capture data or the music recording could be made better, and give you a chance to improve it before we publish it.

2. Before we publish to Fortnite, we will send you a video clip showing what your act looks like, so you can make sure you are happy with it before we hit the big "send" button and the whole world sees it!

Once we have your approval, it will get put in the queue for the next publication round and we will notify you when it is live on the island so you can let your fans know!

Don't like it? No worries, we can take it down for you too and although we can't refund your upfront payment, we can stop the subscription costs immediately.
